One Trailer, One Engineer, One Price

Our LED screen arrives on its own trailer, is set up and tested before your guests arrive, and is taken away again afterwards. There is no scaffold to build, no structure to sign off and no separate suppliers to coordinate.

The screen measures 3.5m wide by 2m high. It is bright enough to read in daylight, rated for outdoor use in British weather, and it raises vertically so people at the back can see over the crowd. It suits audiences of up to around 400 people, which covers most community events, fan zones, outdoor cinema nights, weddings and corporate days.

The reason to choose LED over a projector in the Lakes is daylight. In June and July it is not properly dark here until half past ten, which makes a projected image close to useless for anything starting at a sensible hour. At 5,500 nits this screen is readable in full sun, so your film can start at eight and your sport can run all afternoon. It also dims to 500 nits once it goes dark, which matters more than people expect: a screen stuck at full brightness is painful to watch at midnight.

The other practical difference is power. Most trailer screens this size need a 32A three phase supply or run off their own generator, which is a cost and a logistics job on top. Ours runs from a single 16A socket alongside our d&b PA, because that system draws so little for the volume it produces. Plenty of campsites, pub yards and village halls can host it on the supply they already have.

LED Screen Specification, In Full

• Screen size, 3.5m wide by 2m high. 7 square metres of active display, or 158 inches on the diagonal.
• Pixel pitch, 2.9mm. Sharp from around 3 metres back, so it reads cleanly at any normal viewing distance. Most trailer screens at this price are P8, which needs eight metres before the image resolves.
• Brightness, adjustable from 500 up to 5,500 nits. At the top end it is readable in direct sunlight. At the bottom it dims right down for a film after dark, so the picture is comfortable to watch rather than glaring.
• Signal, plug in a standard 1920x1080 HDMI feed and the screen scales it to fit. No special output settings, scalers or processors needed at your end.
• Viewing distance, comfortable from around 3m to 40m, which is why we size events at up to roughly 400 people.
• Mounting, trailer mounted and raised vertically on site, so sightlines clear a standing crowd. Set up and tested in 30 to 60 minutes, and away again just as quickly.
• Weather rating, outdoor rated and fine in rain. Operating wind limit 28mph, and we watch the forecast in the days before your event so there are no surprises on the morning.
• Inputs, HDMI from laptop, media player, streaming device, satellite or terrestrial receiver, vision mixer or live camera.
• Trailer, 4.55m long including the hitch and 1.50m wide. 2.58m high for travelling, 3.50m high with the screen raised. Full dimensions in the diagram below.

What You Need on Site

Before You Book, Check These Five Things

• Power. A single 16A supply runs the screen and our standard d&b PA together. Most trailer screens this size want 32A three phase or an onboard generator. A generator is only needed here where there is no mains at all, and we can supply one.
• Access. The trailer is towed in, so we need a route wide enough for a vehicle and trailer, and firm ground to pull across. Soft, waterlogged fields are the one thing that stops us.
• Ground. Reasonably level and firm where the trailer sits. Grass, hardstanding, gravel and yards are all fine.
• Time. The screen itself raises in around twenty minutes. Allow 30 to 60 minutes from arrival to fully set up, sounded and tested, and the same again to derig. Overnight derig the next morning is usually possible.
• Overnight security is required. If the screen stays on your site overnight, and that includes an evening event we derig the following morning, overnight security must be in place and is arranged and paid for by you. A locked compound, a secure yard, a manned site or security staff all work, and most venues already have somewhere suitable. We will confirm what you have in place before we accept the booking, and we will not leave the screen on a site without it.

Public liability insurance, PAT records and a risk assessment and method statement are provided as standard, so councils, venues and event organisers have the paperwork they need.
